Ape Canyon

Description
Ape Canyon is a volcanic remnant located near the base of Mount St. Helens in the Pacific Northwest. Formed by lava flows from the eruption in 1980, this canyon is known for its unique beauty and intriguing history, including its name coming from an alleged bigfoot attack on miners in 1924. The photograph captures the soft light of the end of the day illuminating the cool hues of the region and casting intricate shadows across the volcanic rubble.
